NASHVILLE, TN - Award-Winning Western Singer-Songwriter, Mary Kaye Holt, releases her upbeat, infectious song, Pearl Snap Cowboy, ahead of the release of her 7th studio album, Midnight Mustang, on “Dolly Day” 9/25.
Produced by Billy Davis and recorded at the legendary Hilltop Studio in Nashville, this single is inspired by the jazz chordings of classic Western Swing music. Pearl Snap Cowboy is a co-write with Ernie Martinez and captures the light-hearted fun of a call and response with the weight of lyrics that reflect authentic cowboy culture with lines like “...buys his shirts where he buys his tack.”
Mary Kaye Holt has an inspiring origin story. Starting in the small Utah town where she first strummed a guitar at age 38 and pregnant with her 10th child, her honest songs about life in the rural West and singular vocal presence quickly staked her claim as an unlikely emerging folk artist…a “Cowgirl singing Cowboy songs.”
