Mary Kaye Holt bio
"Gifted with one of the most dynamic and original voices in western music, Mary Kaye Holt delivers the goods!" - American Cowboy Magazine
Short Stage Bio:
A multiple award winning entertainer, owner of the NashWest brand, radio host and brand ambassador, Mary Kaye Holt tours extensively with her unique brand of western roots music as a solo performer or with the group, Gone with the West. Her music is a compelling mix of humorous story-telling, familiar cowboy songs, stellar original songs, and jazzy western swing. She is a native born Texan and as a young woman ventured off to Utah where she raised her family of 10 children. She now resides in Nashville TN with her husband and owner of Equestrian Legacy Radio, Gary Holt, with whom she co-hosts the weekly show, “Live From Nashville.”
Renowned western artist Maynard Dixon declared, "The spirit of the West sings in every soul." Mary Kaye believes this and shares this spirit in every performance. Her music is rooted deeply in the Western landscape her life has been immersed in; caring for livestock, rescuing wild mustangs, and mothering the cowboys and cowgirls she raised in one of the most remote places in the Western United States. From her flat brim hat to her bench built boots, Mary Kaye is the real deal western part of what Nashville promises in country-western music."
The critics have been prolific with praise for Mary Kaye's singing and songwriting that includes a catalog of 7 studio albums. Western Horseman said of her, "Some Western singers and musicians are all about preserving traditional cowboy songs. Others strive to write and sing songs about contemporary cowboy life...Mary Kaye does both well, and with an authenticity that appeals to not only purists, but also those seeking something fresh."
