At the Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering I met a young ranching family. When
asked what they do for a living, they grinned and said, “We raise kids and cattle.” This song is my tribute to all the ranching families I meet on my journeys across the American West. Baling twine, udder balm, duct tape, and superglue are all multiple-use items found and used at our place as well.
