A Woman's Heart

Hello, NashWest Besties.

This last week, as I laid in bed with the warmth of my husband next to me, I was silently praying. I thought of the phone calls that are now the reason we keep our phones by our bed. Good news or bad news, it’s all in God's hands. As I had this thought, my phone rang. I scrambled to answer and found my daughter, Millie, on the other line sharing the announcement of the birth of her and her husband's precious new baby boy.

So, today to honor my daughter and to tip my hat to all of my female friends I’ll share this poem I recently wrote for Women’s Heart Awareness.

(the picture I've included is of me with my grandson, Grimm)

A Woman's Heart

A woman’s beating heart is the first distant sound of drums in the darkness that reassure…

You are. My child.

You are. My child.

A woman’s hopeful heart is a dream catcher opening wide to all the beautiful bright things that whisper…

This is. For you.

This is. For you.

A woman’s determined heart is her body’s strongest muscle as she daily bears her burdens, grits her teeth and hisses…

Girl, you’ve. Got this.

Girl, you’ve. Got this.

A woman’s truthful heart is forever fifteen no matter how many candles on the cake it will gleefully acknowledge…

I am. Time less.

I am. Time less.
